Review
by John Granger
I like this book. A lot.
John Granger
boldly contends what millions of fans have already realized: that the
Harry Potter books are so popular because
they're really, really good books. They're written in the tradition and with
the same sensibilities as the books of
C.S. Lewis and
J.R.R. Tolkien.
Instead of trying to placate those of the Christian community who feel that
the Potter books are evil and anti-Christian,
John Granger
turns the tables on them. These books, he proclaims, are not only Christian
in subtle ways, they are also Christian in intentional, overt ways. Then he
proceeds to prove it.
Now don't make the mistake of thinking that this book is only for Christians
who need a little ammunition for their internal battles. You don't need to
be a Christian at all to understand and appreciate the careful analysis of
each Harry Potter volume and the
carefully-researched predictions about future books. This is a book that
every Harry Potter fan will want to own. That's especially true, however,
if you've found yourself having to defend Harry Potter against those who
would turn it over to the Devil.
